Safeguard Professional Care: Product Review

Everybody knows that I have oily skin. I already told in my recent blogs that my skin is prone to acne due to clog pores that are irritated by air pollution. It usually happened when I am excessively sweating due to the hot climate.

I am currently working at Makati as an Accounting Clerk. I usually have two rides of jeeps going to Pasong Tamo. My skin is exposed to the heat of the sunlight and air pollution. Therefore, the results is acne-prone skin. My dermatologist advised me to wash my face frequently. I also bought a specialized soap for my skin type but it is very expensive.

My father recommended me to use the Safeguard Professional Care. He used this soap when he had the skin allergy and it was gone. At my surprise, my pimples are cured within a day. I also use other facial cosmetic products for my acne, but it took me weeks to cure my acne. Take note, this is my personal testimony.

For your information, Safeguard soap is highly accepted by Philippine Association of Medical Technologist (PAMET) since it was first introduced at the market to protect all the Filipino families from all types of skin germs in 99.9%. Safeguard Professional Care can cure severe skin infection like atopic dermatitis or eczema. It is also recommended by the US dermatologist and Red cross for curing the skin infection. In addition, it is very affordable than any specialized derma soaps.

Here are the tips on how to take good care of your skin (Base on my personal experience):

For Oily Type Skin: Do not use Ponds detox lotion in the morning when your skin is usually exposed to the heat and air pollution. The chemical combination of this lotion plus oils that secreted from your pores can produce more acne.

For Acne-Prone Skin: It is said that Pond’s White Beauty (with activated carbon) and Pond’s Clear Solution (anti-bacterial facial scrub) can wash away the deep seated dirt from your pores. However, when your skin type is oily, you will not be needed moisturizers because these would clog your pores and your pimples would not dried up.

For irritating skin: Therefore, wash your skin frequently to avoid skin germs that cause irritation to your skin. You can also use Dr. Kauffman soap that is originally manufactured and can be bought at the Mercury Drug Store.

Whitening Products: My dermatologist advised me that I should focus in curing my acne first before I use the whitening products.

Sickly Body: It is a fact from the medical experts that says that any types of diseases are caused by skin germs. Safeguard soap can prevent us from skin germs in 99.9% when we use it daily for our health and wellness.

I also use Olay Age Defying Bar for my body. Then, I have the best results from using it within a week. However, due to its creamy Olay lather, it is not compatible to my oily skin so my pimples are not cured. Therefore, I did not use Olay for my face.

Hilot Herbal Massage: Service Review

I am so stressed lately. But, I did not blame the holiday season for my weariness. I always wake up at 3:00 A.M. just to go to the bathroom and do my routine. Gladly, those two days are not working days. Then, I cannot go back to sleep. Therefore, I did not sleep well in two days. The results are body ache, headache and dizziness. Additionally, I have cough and sinuses in two weeks. Therefore, I decided to go to a spa here in Binondo. It is a health and wellness spa for those rich Chinese people in community who can afford their services. I had to get some money from my piggy bank just to go to that spa and spend Php 1,000 for Hilot Herbal Massage.

Hilot Herbal Massage:

This kind of massage is one of the branches of Asian alternative medicines. I saw the process on how it should work when my friend Annelaine Sotingco availed this service of the said spa. Of course, I envied her for her luxurious availed service. At that time, when I was still working in Binondo. As far as I can remember, I availed the slimming massage believing that I could lose my cellulites in that process (with the proper diet and regular exercise of course). The reason I availed the slimming massage because I like the way of my masseur do the massaging on my body. It is kind of relaxing. The former masseur from other spa made my body hurts when she did it the wrong way (but I learned my lesson).

The reason I have availed this service because I believe in the effectiveness of Asian alternative medicines except for the modernized Ventosa (which I availed from other spa) because some people who have concern advised me that Ventosa should be done in conventional way.

“Hilot” means body massage. It is a Filipino word. The spa where I availed Hilot Herbal Massage used an essential oil. Some spas use peppermint oil or any aroma therapeutic oil. I have availed the aroma therapeutic oil from the other spa but is very expensive because it is made from natural virgin coconut oil. It is a good thing that the essential oil used by this spa does not cause me any skin allergy because my skin is sometimes sensitives to any cosmetic products. One good thing is that this essential oil that the spa used smells nice. I feel that I smell like a baby.

They used herbal compress pack for the areas in my body that are aching. The herbs they used are conventional herbs that are used for traditional medicine. After the massage, I feel relaxed and relieved. I am no longer feeling weary or stressed. I also promised to myself to get enough proper sleep so I would not become sickly and stressed.

Other Services

At this spa, I also went to their shower room to get a warm shower. I used the shampoo, conditioner, and body gel that are available inside the shower room. I noticed that their body gel has an essential aroma therapeutic that its aroma doesn’t hurt my nostrils and its lather has a miraculous thing to my body. It is like that keeps my weary body relaxed while I am using this body gel. I also like the smell of the body gel too. Of course, their towels smells nice and clean as same as their bathrobe.

I cannot avail the Turkish bath, another form of sauna. But, I went to the sauna room. It is kind of dark and eerie. I feel like that some kind of entities are with me inside the sauna room. I was alone at that time. And, I think I watched too much Misterio, a kind of paranormal investigation reality show of GMA 7. Therefore, I hurried go outside from the sauna even the 15 minutes of sauna is not yet done.

Common Skin Allergies

When your skin comes in contact with an allergen that your skin is sensitive or allergic to you will develop what is called a skin allergy.

Skin allergies also occur:

When you eat food or even proteins you breathe in may cause symptoms to appear on your skin. These reactions are commonly called hives or rashes, and usually appears within 48 hours after the initial exposure to the allergen.

Symptoms commonly seen in skin allergies are:

Redness

Swelling

Blistering

Itching

Hives and rashes.

You can even develop a skin allergy to a substance in a product that you have used for many years. The product does not have to be a new one. The most common types of allergic contact dermatitis are allergies to:

Poison ivy

Oak

Sumac

Another fairly common type of skin allergy is:

Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema)

Atopic Dermatitis is especially common in infants and children. Atopic dermatitis is the most difficult to treat. Atopic dermatitis usually goes away during childhood, or by the age of 25. However, for some people it is a lifelong skin disease. Adults can also develop atopic dermatitis.

Researchers have found that atopic dermatitis can be triggered by:

Allergy

Emotional stress

Involves high levels of immunoglobulin E (lgE), which is the major allergy antibody.

It is also related to the development of other allergies, such as allergic rhinitis and asthma, in most children.

Symptoms of atopic dermatitis are:

Itchy rash that appears first as small white pimples with red centers over the infants cheeks, neck and scalp. When the infant begins to scratch the rash, the area can become infected, produce fluid and spread over a wider area.

The rash can also appear on the outside surfaces of the arms and legs. It often does not appear in the diapered area.

In older children the rash appears on the:

Inner forearm;

Behind the knees and

Opposite the elbows.

Over time if the skin is chronically affected by the rash, it will become dry, thick and browner in color. Some children develop the rash on the eyelids, palms of the hand and soles of the feet.

Teenagers and young adults get the rash most often in:

The bend of the elbow;

Back of the knees, ankles and wrists;

On the face

Neck

Chest

And palms of the hands and soles of the feet.

Atopic dermatitis is not contagious. However, if the scratching leads to a bacterial infection such as Staphylococcus aureus of an area covered by eczema, this can cause impetigo. Impetigo is a skin infection that is contagious.

A doctor will take a careful medical history, looking for allergy in other family members. Skin testing helps confirm food allergies. A food challenge can also confirm that atopic dermatitis is triggered by food.

A food challenge is when suspected foods are removed from the diet, and then they are added back in, first in small amounts then in increasing quantities. The patient is watched to see if symptoms recur.

Treatment of Atopic Dermatitis begins with efforts to reduce the itching and inflammation. A person affected with Atopic Dermatitis can:

Bathe in warm water not hot water for no more than 3-5 minutes.

Use super fatted, unscented soap or soap substitute.

Pat the skin dry.

Promptly apply moisturizer to help keep the skin hydrated.

For thickened skin area, moisturizing ointments are used.

Trim the patients fingernails to reduce problems from scratching.

At night, patients can wear cotton socks on their feet or gloves on their hands to prevent scratching while asleep.

If the rash is oozing, doctors may prescribe a lotion to dry the rash and an antibiotic to treat infection. Do not use corticosteroid products on the face if a rash is present.

Other ways you can help control and treat Atopic Dermatitis are:

Stay indoors in air conditioning when the weather is hot to avoid sweating and itchiness.

Use a humidifier in the winter to keep skin from drying out.

Avoid wool, polyester, wrinkle-resistant, flame-retardant or scratchy fabrics in clothes and bedding.

Reduce indoor allergens by washing bedding in hot water, removing rugs, stuffed furniture, stuffed toys and curtains where possible.

If symptoms resist normal treatment remember that the disease can be controlled. It may take awhile to find out the cause and what the best treatment for it is. The condition also nearly always improves over time.

A new drug called tacgolimus has shown good results in both adults and children with atopic dermatitis.

Skin Care Products That May Cause Dermatitis

3532518006 d805050a22 t Skin Care Products That May Cause Dermatitis

All of us use some types of skin care products. Many of us use color cosmetics. Most of us are not aware that the product we love using so much may be causing dermatitis to us. this dermatitis can be allergic contact dermatitis or irritant contact dermatitis. Anytime you get eczema like patches on your skin, look at your skin care products and cosmetics. Avoid using them for some days and observe the results. If the dermatitis reduces, stiop iuse of that product. Let us find out more about how dermatitis may be caused.

A cosmetic or skin care product contains many ingredients. The main ingredient is the vehicle that forms the base of the product. Many other chemicals, dyes, fragrances, natural products are added to make a color cosmetic or a skin care product. Some of these skin care products and cosmetics can cause allergic contact dermatitis or irritant contact dermatitis.

Fragrances and preservatives are the most common dermatitis causing agents. Every individual has his/her tendency to be allergic or get irritant contact dermatitis from a material. The material, which is safe for one, may cause a reaction in others. For good skin care it is important to know about what causes allergy to you.

Though many skin care products are labeled as hypoallergenic, they may cause allergy in some people. Terms such as unscented, fragrance-free etc. that are frequently used to label skin care products may not have much signifivance because some fragrance may have been used to mask bad odor of other ingredients. Many natural products carry their own fragrance. Many lavender preparations may have no fragrance, but lavender itself is a fragrance.

Natural products used for skin care may also cause allergy, so do chemicals. Most of the essential oils of the lime family are phototoxic. If you use them and walk out in the sun, you will get phototoxic reaction on your skin. That is bad for good skin care.

Any time you get a reaction from a skin care product, stop using that. Try to find out the ingredients that cause dermatitis to you and avoid any other skin care product that uses the same ingredient. You should use any cosmetic or skin care preparation only after doing a small test on the skin first.

When Your Dog Starts to Sneeze

4719714232 de7c202d5a When Your Dog Starts To Sneeze

Indeed, there are many things that both the dogs and the dog owners could have in common. For example, both dogs and dog owners could be prone to obesity if not regulating food intake and by not exercising.

In addition, dogs and humans may also acquire diseases that results from improper dietary regimen like diabetes, heart diseases, etc.

Moreover, the most amusing thing that both dogs and humans share is the fact that they are both vulnerable to allergies.

Sounds impossible? Think again.

Veterinary experts assert that dogs have allergies too. One of the primary signs of allergies is the itching of their skin. Their respiratory tract system can also be affected with allergies.

Normally, dogs will manifest symptoms of respiratory tract allergies like sneezing, wheezing, and coughing. Their nose and their eyes may also manifest a discharge just like humans do whenever they have colds or flu.

There are also allergies that may have an effect on their digestive system; hence, it may result to watery stools, diarrhea, or vomiting.

Experts say that almost 20% of the dogs in the United States suffer from several types of allergy. So, for people who want to know more about the different allergies that dogs acquire, here is a list of the most common allergies:

1. Allergies with flea

It is a well-known fact that dogs are usually infected with fleas. However, what most people do not know is that they can get allergies through these fleas, too.

Well, it is not the fleas that actually cause the allergic reactions in dogs but the fleas saliva. Hence, it is important for the dog to undergo a skin allergy examination so as to determine if a particular dog is sensitive to flea saliva.

In the event that the dog is allergic to flea saliva, it would be better for the owner to implement a rigorous flea control or flea eradication treatment in order to lessen the allergic reactions. Though, it must be kept in mind that solutions that are used in flea control should be safe to the dogs.

2. Allergies pertaining to foods

Like humans, dogs get allergies from food as well. There are instances wherein dogs get allergies from foods that their system cannot tolerate, such as wheat, soy products, pork, beef, whey, fish, eggs, milk, corn, artificial sweeteners, and chemical preservatives that are placed in their food.

Moreover, dogs can get allergies in food that they have not tried before. So, the best way to combat this particular allergy problem is to feed the dog with the commercial dog foods more often instead of homemade products.

Some signs of allergic reactions to food in dogs are shaking of the head, scratching the ears, irritated skin, biting and licking at the rear feet, inflammations in the ear, sneezing, behavioral changes, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.

3. Atopic Dermatitis

Atopic dermatitis is a known allergic skin disease in dogs. This usually caused by the hypersensitivity of the dogs immune system to ordinary substances that can be found in the environment like molds or dust mites.

Usually, a dog is said to be suffering from atopic dermatitis when the dog begins to excessively lick and chew its paws, licking the abdomen and its rear feet.

Atopic dermatitis can be seen as a saliva staining found in the armpits, between the toes of the paws, and in the groin. In light-colored canines, atopic dermatitis can be seen as a red-brown stain found on the same parts that were mentioned.

4. Allergies resulting from bacteria

This is the most common cause of serious allergies in dogs. Generally, there are certain bacteria that thrive in the dogs skin. This is known as the species of Staphylococcus bacteria. In most cases, this does not cause allergies in dogs. However, there are certain types of dogs that develop an allergy to it.

The most common symptom of this kind of allergy is hair loss along with the development of ringworm like marks in the dogs skin. The areas where these marks appear usually get infected, hence, it is important to treat them with antibiotics.

Indeed, allergies are not for humans only. Allergies great affects almost 20% of the total population of dogs in the United States, and that is a pretty alarming number. Therefore, it is extremely important for dog owners to know these dog allergies so as to come up with some preventive measures at the first sign of the attack.
