Ways to Take Care of Yourself When You Are Stressed: Two Reviews Combined

Safeguard Professional Care: Product Review

Everybody knows that I have oily skin. I already told in my recent blogs that my skin is prone to acne due to clog pores that are irritated by air pollution. It usually happened when I am excessively sweating due to the hot climate.

I am currently working at Makati as an Accounting Clerk. I usually have two rides of jeeps going to Pasong Tamo. My skin is exposed to the heat of the sunlight and air pollution. Therefore, the results is acne-prone skin. My dermatologist advised me to wash my face frequently. I also bought a specialized soap for my skin type but it is very expensive.

My father recommended me to use the Safeguard Professional Care. He used this soap when he had the skin allergy and it was gone. At my surprise, my pimples are cured within a day. I also use other facial cosmetic products for my acne, but it took me weeks to cure my acne. Take note, this is my personal testimony.

For your information, Safeguard soap is highly accepted by Philippine Association of Medical Technologist (PAMET) since it was first introduced at the market to protect all the Filipino families from all types of skin germs in 99.9%. Safeguard Professional Care can cure severe skin infection like atopic dermatitis or eczema. It is also recommended by the US dermatologist and Red cross for curing the skin infection. In addition, it is very affordable than any specialized derma soaps.

Here are the tips on how to take good care of your skin (Base on my personal experience):

For Oily Type Skin: Do not use Ponds detox lotion in the morning when your skin is usually exposed to the heat and air pollution. The chemical combination of this lotion plus oils that secreted from your pores can produce more acne.

For Acne-Prone Skin: It is said that Pond’s White Beauty (with activated carbon) and Pond’s Clear Solution (anti-bacterial facial scrub) can wash away the deep seated dirt from your pores. However, when your skin type is oily, you will not be needed moisturizers because these would clog your pores and your pimples would not dried up.

For irritating skin: Therefore, wash your skin frequently to avoid skin germs that cause irritation to your skin. You can also use Dr. Kauffman soap that is originally manufactured and can be bought at the Mercury Drug Store.

Whitening Products: My dermatologist advised me that I should focus in curing my acne first before I use the whitening products.

Sickly Body: It is a fact from the medical experts that says that any types of diseases are caused by skin germs. Safeguard soap can prevent us from skin germs in 99.9% when we use it daily for our health and wellness.

I also use Olay Age Defying Bar for my body. Then, I have the best results from using it within a week. However, due to its creamy Olay lather, it is not compatible to my oily skin so my pimples are not cured. Therefore, I did not use Olay for my face.

Hilot Herbal Massage: Service Review

I am so stressed lately. But, I did not blame the holiday season for my weariness. I always wake up at 3:00 A.M. just to go to the bathroom and do my routine. Gladly, those two days are not working days. Then, I cannot go back to sleep. Therefore, I did not sleep well in two days. The results are body ache, headache and dizziness. Additionally, I have cough and sinuses in two weeks. Therefore, I decided to go to a spa here in Binondo. It is a health and wellness spa for those rich Chinese people in community who can afford their services. I had to get some money from my piggy bank just to go to that spa and spend Php 1,000 for Hilot Herbal Massage.

Hilot Herbal Massage:

This kind of massage is one of the branches of Asian alternative medicines. I saw the process on how it should work when my friend Annelaine Sotingco availed this service of the said spa. Of course, I envied her for her luxurious availed service. At that time, when I was still working in Binondo. As far as I can remember, I availed the slimming massage believing that I could lose my cellulites in that process (with the proper diet and regular exercise of course). The reason I availed the slimming massage because I like the way of my masseur do the massaging on my body. It is kind of relaxing. The former masseur from other spa made my body hurts when she did it the wrong way (but I learned my lesson).

The reason I have availed this service because I believe in the effectiveness of Asian alternative medicines except for the modernized Ventosa (which I availed from other spa) because some people who have concern advised me that Ventosa should be done in conventional way.

“Hilot” means body massage. It is a Filipino word. The spa where I availed Hilot Herbal Massage used an essential oil. Some spas use peppermint oil or any aroma therapeutic oil. I have availed the aroma therapeutic oil from the other spa but is very expensive because it is made from natural virgin coconut oil. It is a good thing that the essential oil used by this spa does not cause me any skin allergy because my skin is sometimes sensitives to any cosmetic products. One good thing is that this essential oil that the spa used smells nice. I feel that I smell like a baby.

They used herbal compress pack for the areas in my body that are aching. The herbs they used are conventional herbs that are used for traditional medicine. After the massage, I feel relaxed and relieved. I am no longer feeling weary or stressed. I also promised to myself to get enough proper sleep so I would not become sickly and stressed.

Other Services

At this spa, I also went to their shower room to get a warm shower. I used the shampoo, conditioner, and body gel that are available inside the shower room. I noticed that their body gel has an essential aroma therapeutic that its aroma doesn’t hurt my nostrils and its lather has a miraculous thing to my body. It is like that keeps my weary body relaxed while I am using this body gel. I also like the smell of the body gel too. Of course, their towels smells nice and clean as same as their bathrobe.

I cannot avail the Turkish bath, another form of sauna. But, I went to the sauna room. It is kind of dark and eerie. I feel like that some kind of entities are with me inside the sauna room. I was alone at that time. And, I think I watched too much Misterio, a kind of paranormal investigation reality show of GMA 7. Therefore, I hurried go outside from the sauna even the 15 minutes of sauna is not yet done.

Contact Dermatitis

Contact dermatitis can be divided into two groups: Irritative dermatitis and allergic dermatitis.

Irritative dermatitis

Irritative dermatitis is caused by irritants in the patients environment. Repetitive exposure will eventually exceed the regeneration ability. These irritants can be water, soap, oils, alcohol etc. This causes certain professions to be of a high risk: hair dressers, care workers, cleaners etc., and people with a history of atopic dermatitis are especially at risk.

Allergic dermatitis

Allergic dermatitis can basically be caused by anything that the patient develops an allergy towards; most frequently the cause is nickel, perfume or additives. However, finding the culprit can be like finding a needle in a haystack. The methods available are epikutan testing or bullet testing.

Epikutan test works by placing samples of different suspects on the patients back. The dermatologist will have a standard sample assembly, but anything the patient works with, his/her perfume, soap, crmes anything basically can be tested at the same time. All the samples are covered with patches and after two days the results are studied. If the patient develops eczema under a specific patch, that test is considered positive.

In a bullet test samples of a couple of suspected causes are tested by placing a drop of a solution and allowing it to enter the skin by pricking a hole in the skin with a needle. This can be used for allergens such as latex, protein, fresh foods or pollen. The allergen will cause a histamine triggered response causing eczema. In order to decipher the result correctly and avoid false positive/negative results, two control drops is used: one with normal saline to rule out contact urticaria and one with histamine to rule out an inability to respond to histamine.

Treatment

Treatment of either irritative or allergic dermatitis involves avoiding the triggering factor. This can be extremely difficult and require months of experimenting with different causes not to mention eventually requiring a change of jobs.

Medical treatment includes focally applied steroids (in severe cases systemic steroids can be tried), disinfecting red baths, anti-inflammatory medicine, ultraviolet light and antibiotics in case of secondary infection.

Psoriasis Severity

5362436491 e7ac704a44 t Psoriasis Severity

Psoriasis is a common skin disease that comes in different forms and varying levels of severity. It affects up to 3 percent of populations worldwide. Most researchers agree that it is an auto-immune disease. It is a common skin disease characterised by thickened patches of inflamed red skin, sometimes accompanied by painful joint swelling and stiffness. This skin condition most often appears on the scalp, elbows and knees. Psoriasis affects between 1-3% of the population. It varies in severity from mild to severe. Psoriasis can start at any age. Areas of the skin grow much faster than normal and form red, scaling patches.

Research shows that the signs and symptoms of psoriasis usually appear between 15 and 35 years of age. About 75% develop psoriasis before age 40. However, it is possible to develop psoriasis at any age. After age 40, a peak onset period occurs between 50 and 60 years of age.

Basis Facts about Psoriasis

Psoriasis most often occurs on the elbows, knees, scalp, lower back, face, palms, and soles of the feet; diagnosis may be difficult because psoriasis often looks like other skin diseases. Doctors generally treat psoriasis in steps according to the severity of the disease or responsiveness to initial treatments. This is sometimes called the “1-2-3″ approach.

Care if you are suffering from Psoriasis

Avoid scratching or itching that can cause bleeding or excessive irritation. Soaking in bath water with oil added and using moisturizers may help. Bath soaks with coal tar or other agents that remove scales and reduce the plaque may also help. Cortisone creams can reduce the itching of mild psoriasis and are available without a prescription. Some people use an ultraviolet B unit at home under a doctors supervision.

A dermatologist may prescribe the unit and instruct the patient on home use, especially if it is difficult for the patient to get to the doctors office for phototherapy treatment.

Reports from people with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis are mixed: Some say acupuncture helps their disease while others report no effect. People who try acupuncture and improve say it takes many treatments. Acupuncture has few known side effects.

Homeopathic remedies are usually so diluted that they will not cause major side effects. A consultation with someone trained in this practice will help guide the treatment and ensure your safety.

Psoriasis Treatment by Diet

People with psoriasis are individuals with different backgrounds, habits and medical histories, who respond to substances differently at different times. Moreover, people with psoriasis can have remissions that have nothing to do with changes in diets or treatments. These variables make it difficult to evaluate whether any specific dietary change is responsible for clearing or worsening psoriasis.

The addition or elimination of one substance from the diet can be the remedy for one person and the culprit for another. There is certainly no harm in exploring how diet impacts your psoriasis, as long as your overall health is not compromised.

Dietary supplementation with fish oil is said to have a variety of favorable effects on both the cardiovascular and immune systems in laboratory animals. Psoriasis is an immune-mediated disease, so it follows that fish oil if it alters immune reactivity could improve psoriasis.

Psoriasis Treatment & How to Deal With the Illness

5363047936 b8a269d52c m Psoriasis Treatment & How To Deal With The Illness

Psoriasis is a non-contagious skin condition that produces red scaley patches, which are most commonly found on the knees and elbows. In order to combat this illness, an aggressive psoriasis treatment is often prescribed by a dermatologist. Rarely resulting from a rare genetic gene, psoriasis is more commonly associated with a weakened immune system. In addition, emotional stress, physical injury or recent sickness are all believed to play a large role in the appearance of psoriasis. As a result, the condition is often worsened by either physical or emotional stress and may cause depression and loss of self-esteem.

There are several types of psoriasis, but all appear as red skin lesions that may cause great discomfort to the sufferer. Depending on the severity, extreme itching and pain may accompany the breakout. In order to prevent further suffering, a dermatologist may recommend a psoriasis treatment in accordance with the location, severity and size of the problem area(s). Often prescribed in steps used to gradually treat the illness, a psoriasis treatment may include medication directly applied to the skin, light therapy and/or the use of oral or injected medications to help treat the entire immune system.

Because everyone is unique, each psoriasis treatment will vary from one person to another. In addition, psoriasis may become resistant to recurring treatment forcing a dermatologist to periodically switch to another approach. When applied directly to the skin, physicians find that a psoriasis treatment consisting of an ointment or creme is likely to improve the skins condition.

Individuals who are searching for a psoriasis treatment that will soothe their skin may find that adding oil to their bath water and later applying moisturizer to their skin, may help to temporarily ease the discomfort. When applied on a regular basis and for an extended period of time, moisturizers may prove to be an effective, but temporary, psoriasis treatment. Sunlight may also serve as a natural psoriasis treatment as brief exposure to the sun may help to eliminate some of the itchy, red patches.

Psoriasis is a chronic illness that leaves the sufferer open to recurring symptoms throughout their life, which is why an effective psoriasis treatment is important to maintaining comfort. There is currently no cure for psoriasis but, with a good dermatologist and a lifestyle that calls for less stress and improved nutrition, psoriasis doesnt have to control every day.

This article is intended to be used for informational purposes only. It is not to be used in place of, or in conjunction with, professional medical advice or a dermatologists recommendation. Prior to beginning any Psoriasis treatment program, individuals should consult a physician for proper diagnosis and/or an appropriate treatment regimen.
