  1. California Baby makes excellent skincare/ dry skin products for babies and young children. Off hand, I can’t remember the name of the specific product but we only use California Baby products for our little boy and his skin is beautiful, or if he is having a rash or dry skin, those products relieve the problem pretty quickly.
They are available at certain supermarkets, such as Whole Foods, although I doubt you will see them at many smaller or independent stores. Check on line at California Baby website or at Buy Buy Baby website.
A bit expensive, but well worth it.

  2. My daughter does too. Her pediatrician recommended Aquaphor (from Eucerin). It’s kind of expensive but works great. I put it on her right after a bath so it helps to seal in the moisture. It’s really greasy (like Vaseline) but nothing else seems to work as well.

I know this is going to sound gross and it is going to be messy but I have 2 suggestions that have worked for my son. 1 have her take an oatmeal bath use the non-instant oatmeal, although I’m sure baby oatmeal will work too, make a warm bath and while the water is running pour the oatmeal in and let it sit for about 5-10 mins before she gets in, and you don’t want it to be too thick but not too thin. 2 Before she goes to bed on the really dry/itchy parts use Desitin, this does get messy but it helps put moisture back into the skin and helps the discomfort, you want to put a nice coat of it on and if she’s old enough wrap the spot with a little bit of plastic wrap which will help with the mess and make sure it stays on long enough. Or you could always by lotion with oatmeal in it, but that can become expensive.

  4. Both of my boys have terribly dry skin and eczema, so we have tried everything imaginable. With my older son, Aquaphor worked really well. After bath time we would grease him up really well. We used sensitive skin body wash with him. With my younger son, we have finally found that the Aveeno Baby Oatmeal bath really helps relieve his itchiness. You can use it as a body wash or pour it directly into the bath. We tried Aquaphor with him but ended up switching to a newer cream called Ceravae. It isn’t as greasy as Aquaphor but seems to be working wonders on his dry skin. I hope you are able to find something that works for your daughter because I know it is just so miserable for them to be itchy!

  5. doctor recommended auqaphor or cetaphil.. i have used them both and prefer the cetaphil, it is less greasy… it is expensive but if done twice a day until the dryness is under control(about a week ) and then once a night after bath( i bathe my son everyday), then your little girl will have the softness skin.

  6. I use the Aveeno Baby Wash with Oatmeal and the Aveeno Baby Lotion with Oatmeal for my daughter and it works better than Aquaphor on her. Aquaphor is too greasy and gets all over everything. Aveeno also has oatmeal bath soaks that help. Aveeno is the only stuff that works for her. Her pediatrician gave us sample lotions to use – none of them worked.

Sounds like Exzema. My son had it bad on his face. I get it bad on my legs and arms. BAD.
First step would be to get rid of the issue causing it.
Avoid lotions, bath washes with fragrences. Look for hypoallergenic sensitive skin products.
Check with your laundry soap. especially if you just changed it. they have soaps and even bleach for sensitive skin and hypoallergenic.

To help it heal use lotions with NO perfumes. Put it on after a bath or shower and at night. add often if real bad can be added as much as needed. If its really bad talk to your doctor they might have to perscribe a steriodal cream to help it heal. You did not give an age on your girl but you can use hydrocortozone cream on it to help with the itch. But not if your child is still young. if shes very young contact the doctor before using any over the counter meds

  8. I use African Vitamin E oil mixed with some Palmers cocoa butter on my five year old. She has dry skin but not excessively dry. You may want to talk to her pediatrician, but I suggest trying something all natural first. FYI the oil and cocoa butter is not really to thick, I usually put it on her after a bath, and may re apply a small amount in the mornings.
I know that you are really into hair and skin products, try sickbay.biz, they have Dominican hair and skin products for the dirt. You know them Dominicans have nice skin and hair.
OR try pure Vitamin E oil, I know people that use it to treat eczema, I heard it absorbs quickly, and they noticed the difference very quickly.
