  1. Put fish oil in his food. Just break open the caplet and pour in his food.

  2. He’s definitely allergic to something. Take him to the vet and they can prescribe some cream or a pill to relieve his symptoms. good luck! =D

  3. we just put vegetable oil in our dog’s food, like a cap full

  4. Where is she itchy? That all has to do with why. Is it her feet and legs (allergies)? is it around his neck? Is it on his back?
It could be allergies, could be parasites (fleas, mange) and that could be causing an allergic reaction, could be a bacterial infection. Ohh sounds like going to the vet will help the most…

try an oatmeal shampoo that you can buy at any pet store, helped my dog. Also take him to the vet to make sure he doesn’t have any allergies.

  6. Take your dog to the vet. They can perform a skin scrape test to identify everything it is allergic to. That breed of dog tends to also have a lot of allergy problems no matter where they live. Usually it is to grass and dust. My friend has a dog that is allergic to grass, dust, dog food, cats, etc. Now that is an extreme case. Your vet can provide you a pill to help relieve the dog’s itching. The vet might also give your dog an injection of an anti flammatory. Also check your dog’s ears. If they are red and smelly that is also a sign of bad allergies.

  7. First try feeding him yogurt (try unflavored but if he won’t eat it try the vanilla flavored most will eat it) and adding Avon’s skin so soft after bathing, it is a wonderful moisturizer for dogs and will detour fleas and other biting insects. Stay away from the vinegar it is very drying. If the yogurt and skin so soft do not work, try benadryl (children’s liquid) and if this helps your dog has allergies and you will have to take the dog to the vet and get real dog allergy medicine as benadryl is okay sometimes, but not a good everyday remedy for a dog. Good luck!

  8. You definitely need to take him to the vet. I have a Frenchie with the SAME issue. They are prone to staph infections, so he probably needs to be put on an antibiotic. Also, you should ask your vet about Atopica. It works wonders for dogs with skin issues. The itchiness, the flakiness and the smelliness are all helped (well, if your dog takes to it at least). Also, you should ask about hexaderm (I think that’s what it’s called). It’s a medicated shampoo that will combat the icky on your pups skin. Another thing, ask about a limited antigen diet. My dog eats Innovative Veterinarian Diets food (IVD), the venison and potato kind. That is ALL that is in it, so if it’s a food allergy your dog suffers from that should help. Really though, he needs to see a vet before his itchy skin leads do infection, it can be really pricey to treat the infection. Your vet may consider giving him a cortisone shot to help with the irritation, that works wonder too, but isn’t good long term. If you have any questions, feel free to email me. I’ve been dealing with my dogs skin issues for 2 or 3 years now, I may be able to at least try to assist. Good luck!
